Welcome to CSIP North West

Welcome to CSIP North West

The Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP) was created in 2005 by integrating a number of initiatives supporting the development of services to help improve people’s lives. There are eight Regional Development Centres, including CSIP North West.

Accountable to the Department of Health (DH) and NHS North West, CSIP North West supports the implementation of national policy priorities at a regional level. We work with communities, systems and organisations that are engaged with health and social care needs to promote to support the improvement of, and innovation in, local services.

Our four core programmes for delivery are:

Mental Health (National Institute for Mental Health – NIMHE)
Social Care Programme
Health Offender Partnerships
Children, Young People and Families

Local Area Agreements reveal local priority targets in North West

In the North West, the Regional Director of Public Health has thanked CSIP North West for its valuable contribution to supporting the development of Local Area Agreements (LAAs) in the region. Health and Social Care priorities are particularly well represented in LAAs within the North West and we will continue to support LAAs in implementing their plans. For example there will be a self-directed support network, of particular interest to those 15 councils who prioritised it in their LAAs. We will also deliver a well-being development workshop to share and consolidate best practice in measuring and improving well-being across all ages.

The 150 new Local Area Agreements (LAAs) were formally launched by the Prime Minister and Hazel Blears on 30th June.

Department of Health Ministers and senior officials have commented how pleased they are with coverage of health and social care priorities nationally: “This is testament to the hard work of colleagues working in Department of Health teams across the regions, Government Offices and national policy teams over the last 12 months. I would like to thank you for your excellent contributions.” Ben Morrin, Deputy Director for Regional and Local Partnerships, Department of Health.
