Welcome to CSIP North West.
Welcome to CSIP North West
Goodbye and Thank you....
.....to all those who have worked with CSIP and NIMHE over the last six years.
During this time the team within the North West Development Centre have been privileged to work with many people, teams and organisations all striving to change and improve health and social care systems; improving the care experience, changes in attitudes and improvement of health and well-being.
We are confident that we have made positive contributions in the places we have worked, and for people using services and those supporting such people. Our work could not have been achieved without the collaboration and partnership of many.
On behalf of colleagues within the North West Development Centre I would like to offer my thanks for the contributions and perspectives you have offered during the course of our work, these have been greatly valued.
We hope that health and well-being in the North West continues to flourish and that services and support networks continue to change and improve for ALL.
We look forward to working with you in our new roles.
Simon Rippon
Acting Director, CSIP North West Development Centre
NEW National Mental Health Development Unit
Simon Rippon welcomes the new NMHDU and looks forward to future collaborations between national and regional policy and implementation of best practice.
As previously communicated, the CSIP North West Regional Development Centre will be dis-established on 31st March 2009, and its programmes themes will be hosted and delivered elsewhere. Specifically:
• Mental Health, Equalities, Service Improvement and Children, Young People and Families will move into NHS North West (SHA) and sit in the appropriate directorate portfolios at the SHA Headquarters, Gateway House, Manchester;
• John Boyington, Dean Royles, Jane Cummings and Ruth Hussey will, respectively, become the Directors responsible for these work programmes.
• The Social Care programmes within CSIP North West have already transferred to the Deputy Regional Director for Social Care within the Department of Health North West at Government Office North West, Piccadilly Tower, Manchester.
Although many of the programmes and projects will be discontinued in their current form, it is likely you will continue to see many familiar CSIP North West staff making the transition into the new arrangements, taking forward many aspects of work and developing and leading new initiatives.
By integrating former CSIP North West themes into the SHA and Government Office, the intention is to embed programmes and expertise into the heart of the health and social care system while ensuring work better reflects the needs and priorities of localities and the region.
